So first of all, you read the amount of books that was my goal for the year. I was right on track until I learned to quilt...and reading went right out the window.

Second of all, I'm surprised by how many books are on both of our lists: The Great Omission, Waking the Dead, Kite Runner, Revelations of a Single Woman, and The Time Traveller's Wife. (What'd you think of the latter?)

Third of all, you read several of my favorites this year!

How many of these were re-reads for you?

And have you read Life of Pi? You totally should so we can talk about it.

First (going backwards), 16 are re-reads (if you count the Portugese books).
Second, which are your "favorites"?
Third, LOVED the Time Traveller's Wife, The Great Omission was a work "requirement", I wish I had Waking the Dead with me here, I was on the edge of my seat reading The Kite Runner, and Revelations of a Single Woman was yours.
I haven't read Life of Pi, but I bet I can get somebody to bring it down here for me so we can talk about it. I've heard it's a good one from several people.

Fav's--Waking the Dead, Gone with the Wind (my #1!), To Kill a Mockingbird (my#2), Cold Sassy Tree.

I had mixed feelings about Time Traveller's Wife. Thought the conception was severely original...WOW. Couldn't stand that it was practically porn, though... (can I say that on your blog?)

Definitely read Life of Pi, so we can talk. A few more recommendations: Watership Down (my #3), The Flower Boy, An Unexpected Light (if you liked Kite Runner, you might like this last one).

I cried reading GWTW and Cold Sassy Tree. To Kill a Mockingbird is just a dang good book.
When I read The Time Traveler's Wife, I had already finished Lolita (not too much earlier), so it seemed pretty tame (at least in relation) at the time. I think that if I even put the title Lolita anywhere near my blog, you are allowed to say....
Haven't read Watership Down in a LONG time. I had tons of time to read before I came and now I had to scale down my books (which is why I'm reading several in Portuguese; I bought them here) because they are way too heavy!
